Course: COMM 2024 Media Writing, Fall 2019
CW: Sexual assault, sexual violence.

For my final project in COMM 2024, I wanted to raise awareness about an issue that plagues all colleges in the United States: sexual assault on college campuses. My feature story focuses on the story of a survivor, a perspective that is often overlooked. Through this story, not only did I want to inform Virginia Tech readers, but my priority was to amplify the voices of all survivors.

The final project for this class was creating a team media kit for our client's new on-campus internship program.
​
I was specifically responsible for drafting and writing the cover letter and the fact sheet (page 2 and 3), and designing the "Our Six Goals for the On-Campus Internship Program" infographic (page 7).
​
Our team received special recognition from the client for my strategy of implementing Virginia Tech's tagline and byline throughout the media kit.

In this essay, I deeply examined Uber's toxic "bro-culture" as a public relations case study. I analyzed the situation and applied public relations theories to justify my findings.

For this Client-Consultant presentation project, I used my writing and design skills to advise my client on purchasing the Amazon Echo Dot 3rd Generation. This project emphasized the power of not only strong and concise writing, but also attractive and user-friendly design choices.

In this class, I learned the basics of HTML and CSS to develop my own website hosted by GitHub Pages. On this website, you will find my Medium blog post about coffee that I wrote for the class, a video I filmed about skincare, a podcast about the impact of COVID-19 on streaming services, and a link to the best local coffee shops in Blacksburg, Virginia!
